Harper, Liberia— William V.S. Tubman University (TU) is set to embark on an exciting new academic semester, marked by a range of enhancements and leadership changes designed to enrich the student experience and propel the university forward.
In a letter to the TU community, Dr. Olu Q. Menjay, President and CEO of Tubman University, outlined several key updates, emphasizing the university's commitment to innovation and student success.
Streamlined Registration and Renovated Facilities
As the semester approaches, students will benefit from a newly implemented online registration system, which promises greater convenience and efficiency. "Our fully online student registration process not only simplifies enrollment but also strengthens our digital management system," said Dr. Menjay.
Additionally, the university has completed renovations on its coed dormitory, offering an improved living environment. "We are pleased to reopen the coed dorm, which now boasts modern amenities to better serve our students," Dr. Menjay added.
Enhanced Campus Services
Further enhancing campus life, TU has introduced banking services on campus. This new offering is designed to make financial transactions more accessible for both students and employees. The university has also expanded its internet service, extending connectivity beyond Harper. "The expansion of our internet services will provide our students with better access to technological resources, both on and off-campus," Dr. Menjay noted.
Exciting New Developments
The semester will also see improvements to the campus dining experience, thanks to an upgraded food service system. In addition, the College of Health Sciences has received a generous donation from Partners in Health: a new 14 - seater Toyota Hardtop SUV. "This vehicle will significantly enhance our programs, allowing us to better serve our students and the community," stated Dr. Menjay.
Leadership changes are also on the horizon. TU has welcomed a new Assistant Vice President of Research, Innovation & Discovery, who is expected to play a pivotal role in driving academic excellence. The "Access to College" program is being reinstated to prepare future students for enrollment, further solidifying TU's commitment to educational outreach.
Welcoming a Fulbright Scholar
In an exciting development, TU will host its first Fulbright Scholar, Dr. Thurman L. Bridges III. "We are honored to welcome Dr. Bridges to our campus," said Dr. Menjay. "His presence underscores our growing reputation as a center for academic excellence." The Fulbright Program is the U.S. government's flagship international exchange program, and Dr. Bridges’ tenure at TU marks a significant milestone for the university.
New Leadership on the Board of Trustees
As TU continues to advance its strategic priority of becoming a leading institution of science and technology, the university also announced the appointment of a new Board of Trustees. Led by former Senator Conmany B. Wesseh, the board brings a wealth of diverse expertise to guide the university’s future. Their appointment by TU’s Visitor, President Joseph N. Boakai, reflects the university's ongoing commitment to strong governance and leadership.
In closing, Dr. Menjay expressed his optimism for the upcoming semester. "As we move forward, we are excited to see how these enhancements and leadership changes will contribute to a semester of growth, innovation, and success," he concluded.
