The office of Career Planning and Placement Services offers many ways for students to network with prospective employers before even leaving the university. Here are just a few ways to pursue career options at the Tubman University.
Recruiters from local, regional and national institutions are invited to network with students and alumni during our career fairs. These meet and greet sessions allow representatives from potential employers to introduce their organizations in the relaxed atmosphere of the University. Organizations presentations are opportunities for students and alumni to get a better understanding of the culture and available positions in a structured discussion with recruiters.
Career planning is a crucial step that can determine the direction of one’s professional life. This process involves taking specific steps to achieve goals. Students and alumni can attend career events and employer-hosted workshops that cover a broad range of topics, including resume writing, interview preparation and networking. These seminars discuss the importance of effective career planning and development following a three step process:
Know yourself by identifying interests
Explore various career options
Take action by selecting the right educational path and developing the requisite skills to meet your goals.
Tubman University is committed to ensuring all students have every opportunity available to connect classroom learning to real world experiences. In order to achieve this, the University partners with different institutions to provide work-based learning (internship/mentorship) experiences that help prepare our students for the real world.
Students are encouraged to clarify their goals and objectives and launch their career with an advisor from the Career Planning and Placement Office. Whether you are a freshman student, graduating senior or an alumnus seeking to begin a new career path, our advising team will help you connect to the dynamic network of employment.
