The Department of Counseling Services aims to provide quality counseling services, promote life skills training, education, and consultation, and provide appropriate referral services to the currently enrolled WVS Tubman University students, faculty, employees, staff, and volunteers who have sought counseling from our department. We strive to provide helpful and effective counseling services. Registered students at the university are to be the primary recipients of the counseling services offered. The Department's overall goal is to harness a welcoming environment that encourages intellectual and emotional growth and fosters personal and social learning and development. We aim to support the university's learning environment by promoting mental health for students. The center will utilize assessment, individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, consulting and referral, training, workshops, and outreach programs considering the campus's individual, cultural, and demographic diversity.
This workshop's purpose is to teach individuals the safest and most effective ways to prevent outbursts and rages. Participants have learned ways to manage and cope with stress and anger and their causes.

Every first semester of a given academic year, students are trained to become Peer Support Providers for the sole purpose of identifying and helping their colleagues who are faced with social, academic, and psychological problems.
During every academic semester, students and staff referred to the Department by the office of the Registrar and the higher authority at TU, as well as individuals seeking help and guidance in situations, undergo counseling sessions during the academic year based on their time schedule and the situation.
This aims firstly at preventing the onset or further development of mental health problems, including depression, anxiety, self-harm, and suicidal ideation. Secondly, it seeks to empower and build personal resilience. Finally, it aims to empower and improve help-seeking behavior by increasing available support knowledge and developing positive coping strategies.
