WVSTU: William V. S. Tubman University, through its College of Health Sciences, is currently hosting its 2026 Health Fair at the Tubman Pavilion in Harper, Maryland County.
Held under the theme, "Promoting Healthy Living through Prevention, Screening, and Education," the ongoing event began at 8:00 a.m. and will run until 5:00 p.m.
The fair was officially launched by the Vice President For Academic Affairs, Dr. Maria Rebecca Fe Gueta, who emphasized the university's commitment to community health and preventive care.
"This Health Fair reflects our dedication to taking healthcare beyond the classroom and into the community," Dr. Gueta said. "We are proud to provide essential services that empower our people to take charge of their health and build a stronger, healthier society."
The fair is offering free services including blood pressure checks, blood sugar testing, malaria testing, BMI assessments, counseling on stress, depression and anxiety, as well as general health education.
Students, staff, faculty members, and members of the public have turned out in numbers to benefit from the initiative, which continues throughout the day.
