Our history
Founded in 1978 as the William V.S. Tubman College of Technology on land donated by the people of Maryland County, and named for Liberia's 19th President, a native of the county.
Operations ceased in December 1989 during Liberia's civil conflict. Following reconstruction efforts, the institution was chartered as a full public university by an Act of the Liberian Legislature on 14 September 2009.
