San Pedro, Ivory Coast - February 22, 2025 - A delegation of 25 faculty and staff members from William V. S. Tubman University (TU), led by Dr. Malike Kone, Associate Vice President for Research, Innovation, and Discovery, is currently in San Pedro, Ivory Coast, as guests of the University of San Pedro (USP). This visit strengthens academic and cultural ties between the two institutions.
The TU delegation arrived in San Pedro on Friday (February 21) and was warmly received by their USP counterparts. Their visit began with a guided tour of the University of San Pedro's campus, followed by a meet-and-greet session.
As part of the ongoing exchange, today was designated as a sports day, featuring friendly matches and recreational activities to promote camaraderie and teamwork. One of the highlights was a Maracana football match, where the University of San Pedro emerged victorious with a 5-3 win over Tubman University. Despite the loss, the match served as a fun and engaging opportunity to strengthen bonds between the two institutions.
This visit is a direct outcome of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between TU and USP, which aims to enhance student and faculty exchanges, joint research initiatives, and academic cooperation.
The delegation's visit is expected to further strengthen TU's international engagement, paving the way for future academic programs and cross-border educational opportunities between Liberia and Ivory Coast.
