Tubman University and ForumCiv Liberia Explore Strategic Partnership

Harper, Maryland County, February 24, 2025 - William V. S. Tubman University (TU) is in discussions with ForumCiv Liberia to establish a strategic partnership aimed at promoting sustainable development and enhancing academic collaboration.
ForumCiv is a politically and religiously unaffiliated development cooperation organization comprising approximately 140 member organizations from Swedish civil society. Together, they work to advance human and civil rights and facilitate popular participation worldwide.
The ForumCiv Liberia delegation met with senior TU officials, including Dr. Malike K. Kone, Associate Vice President for Research, Innovation, and Discovery; Rev. Mathew B. Akinselure, Vice President; Thaddeus Kumar, Associate Vice President for Human Resources and Compliance; and Mr. Mark Toe, Associate Vice President for Administration and Campus Operations. They also engaged with the College of Agriculture and Food Science, led by Dean Dr. Larry C. Hwang and the Center for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
Discussions centered on evaluating the Customary Land Forum (CLF) process--a mechanism through which communities acquire legal title for their customary lands--enhancing stakeholder engagement in ForumCiv-funded initiatives, and identifying new opportunities for collaboration that align with TU's mission of academic excellence and community impact.
Both institutions are optimistic about forming a robust partnership that will contribute to TU's growth and reinforce its role as a leading center for education, research, and innovation in
