TU Graduates Begin Studies in India

Two graduates of Tubman University's College of Engineering and Technology have arrived in Chennai, India, to start their Master of Engineering studies in Naval Architecture and Offshore Engineering at AMET University.
Solomon Tugbah Nyema Jr., a 2023 graduate of the Department of Civil Engineering, and Lucidia Mackaylane Sherman, a 2024 graduate of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, are the first Liberians to pursue this specialized field.
Their journey was made possible through fully funded scholarships from the Liberia Maritime Authority (LiMA). Both graduates performed well in LiMA's home-based exam and the Graduate Record Examination (GRE).
They earned their places at AMET University and demonstrated the quality of TU's engineering graduates.
Applauding their achievement, TU President and CEO Dr. Olu Q. Menjay said, "This milestone reflects TU's vision of producing graduates ready to lead on the global stage." Nyema and Sherman have promised to return to Liberia after finishing their studies to strengthen the country's maritime and offshore engineering sector.
