AFL Health Services Chief Pays Courtesy Visit to TU President

WVSTU: The President & CEO of Tubman University, Dr. Olu Q. Menjay, on Monday, June 22,2026 received Lt. Col. Dr. Joseph B. N. Kowo Jr., Assistant Chief of Staff for Health Services of the Armed Forces of Liberia (AFL), during a courtesy visit to the University's main campus.

During the meeting held at the Office of the President, Lt. Col. Dr. Kowo expressed gratitude to Dr. Menjay for the warm reception and commended his high level of leadership in advancing the University's mission and strengthening its academic reputation in Liberia.

Lt. Col. Dr. Kowo also praised the administration and staff of Tubman University, particularly the College of Health Sciences, for providing professional research and training programs that are contributing significantly to the development of healthcare professionals in Liberia.

According to Lt. Col. Dr. Kowo, the University's research programs are comparable to those of leading institutions across the region.
"From my observations, Tubman University's research programs are meeting regional standards and continue to demonstrate the quality, rigor, and relevance required to compete with similar programs across West Africa. This is a testament to the commitment of the University's leadership, faculty, and researchers," Lt. Col. Dr. Kowo stated.

He further noted that the progress being made at the University reflects a strong commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and capacity building, especially within the health sciences sector.
In response, Dr. Menjay thanked Lt. Col. Dr. Kowo for the visit and his encouraging remarks, reaffirming Tubman University's commitment to advancing quality education, research, and community service.
"We are honored by Lt. Col. Dr. Kowo's visit and deeply appreciate his assessment of the progress being made at Tubman University. Our administration remains committed to strengthening teaching, research, and community engagement while ensuring that our academic programs meet both national and regional standards. The commendation of our College of Health Sciences is particularly encouraging, as we continue to invest in research and professional training that contribute to Liberia's development," Dr. Menjay said.

The courtesy visit of Lt. col. Dr. Joseph B.N Kowo Jr, a professional Health expert and Lecturer underscored the importance of recognizing and supporting institutions that are contributing to national development through education, research, and professional training.
