Orange Liberia Dedicates $120,000 Digital Lab at Tubman University

On Friday, March 28, 2025, Orange Liberia launched a state-of-the-art Digital Lab at William V. S. Tubman University to enhance research, innovation, and entrepreneurship in Maryland County. The facility, equipped with computers, 3D printers, and advanced digital tools, aims to support students and the broader community.
Speaking at the dedication, Orange Liberia's Project Manager, Zaza Mulbah, stated, "This initiative represents a strong collaboration between Tubman University and Orange Liberia. It provides students and aspiring entrepreneurs with additional resources, a fully functional coding school, and a free learning environment." He encouraged students to utilize the lab, adding, "This is not just a learning space--it is a place that can transform your future if utilized effectively."
Orange Liberia CEO, Jean Maurice Yao, emphasized the company's commitment to digital education: "We are not just a telecommunications company--we are investing in the future by equipping young Liberians with digital literacy, research, and software application skills relevant to today's academic and professional world."
Tubman University President, Dr. Olu Q. Menjay, welcomed the initiative, describing it as "a major boost for digital learning and entrepreneurship." He added, "This has been my vision--to make Tubman University a hub of innovation and enterprise. Thanks to our partners at Orange Liberia, this vision has now become a reality."
Students expressed excitement, with Student Council Government President Wendell Johnson stating, "We cannot overemphasize our gratitude. With smiles on our faces, we welcome this modern 21st-century digital lab that will equip us with the skills needed for the digital age."
The facility will offer coding and software development training, business incubation, freelancing opportunities, and career guidance programs. As the first of its kind in Southeastern Liberia, this initiative bridges the digital divide and equips Liberian youth with essential 21st-century skills.
