Harper, Maryland County - Tubman University (TU) has officially launched a two-day Leadership and Strategic Planning Workshop, running from Friday, May 9 to Saturday, May 10, 2025. The workshop is designed to connect leadership, institutional culture and success - laying the foundation for a comprehensive university-wide strategic plan aligned with TU's mission, vision and values.

Held in the auditorium of the Maryland County Administration Building, the workshop brings together university administrators, deans, faculty leaders, student government representatives, and members of the Board of Trustees. Trustees Hon. O. Natty B. Davies and Hon. James A. Thompson are not only in attendance but also serving as facilitators.

The workshop centers on TU's four foundational pillars--academic excellence, student success, entrepreneurship, and brand prestige. It encourages collaboration and reflection on how to align institutional culture with long-term goals.

In his opening remarks, Dr. Olu Q. Menjay, President and CEO of Tubman University, welcomed participants and emphasized the importance of leadership working together to move TU forward. "This workshop is not just a meeting--it is a bold step toward building a Tubman University that inspires excellence, serves its students with care, and contributes meaningfully to national development," Dr. Menjay said.

Student government leaders are also actively participating in the sessions, ensuring that student voices help shape the future direction of the university. Their involvement reflects TU's commitment to inclusive and participatory planning.

Participants are engaging in group discussions and strategic exercises to produce actionable steps for the development of TU's next strategic plan. The outcomes of this workshop will help guide the university's priorities and institutional growth over the next five years.
